The Rufus Centre

Flitwick is a small town in mid Bedfordshire. About 5 miles from the M1, Flitwick has a railway station on the Thameslink line served by First Capital Connect. Trains from Flitwick station go north to Bedford, with connections to the Midlands, and south to Luton, Luton Airport Parkway, St Albans, London, Gatwick Airport and Brighton, making it a popular place to live for commuters.

Public transport links to Bedford are good with both rail and bus services running multiple times per hour.

Things to do

Why not visit Flitwick's open-air market held every Friday and sample some local produce or if you're feeling more energetic utilise the facilities at the nearby sports centre which include a 25m swimming pool, children's pool, gym and squash courts.

Alternatively, visitors can enjoy two local natural attractions, Flitwick Wood, an ancient woodland, and Flitwick Moor where in past times peat was cut and spring water was extracted and bottled. If you are happy to venture slightly further afield you can enjoy English Heritage sites, wild animals up-close and trains, planes and automobiles!
